Start with a kitchen
that makes sense
for your life.
A kitchen renovation comes with a lot of decisions. Which layout works? Where should you invest? Will the cabinets, countertops, lighting, and hardware actually work together?
We help you work through those decisions as one complete design, so you can move forward with a clear direction instead of piecing it together as you go.
Function comes first.
Cooking, gathering, storage, and the everyday traffic through your home all shape the design. A beautiful kitchen should earn its place in your life.
The details belong together.
Cabinetry, stone, tile, lighting, and finishes are considered together, with attention to proportion, character, durability, and your investment.
You have a design partner.
Local guidance, procurement, and agreed project oversight help carry your design decisions into the finished space.
A cohesive plan.
Support beyond the selections.
Your proposal defines the design work, purchasing, and local involvement your renovation needs.
Layout & design direction
Clarify how the kitchen should function, what you want to change, and the overall look. Explore layout, storage, and priorities before committing to major purchases.
Cabinetry, materials & finishes
Bring cabinet details, countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and paint into one considered design.
See the design come together
Review plans, material selections, and visualizations included in your scope, so you can understand the direction and make informed decisions.
Help with the purchasing
Procurement can include approved-product ordering, vendor communication, tracking, and order-issue follow-up. Your proposal specifies the items and responsibilities covered.
Guidance through implementation
Agreed site visits, design coordination with your contractor, and project oversight help address design questions and review how the approved details are coming together.
A thoughtful finish
Review the completed design details and identify outstanding design items with your team, within the scope of your engagement.
We lead the interior design and provide agreed project oversight. Your contractor manages construction, trades, permitting, site safety, and installation.

A few useful answers.
Do you handle the construction?
Rowan & Muse leads the design, with procurement and project oversight included as agreed. We can work with your preferred contractor or builder, or bring one into the conversation if you need a construction team. The contractor handles construction, trades, permits, site safety, code compliance, and installation; we coordinate on design questions within our scope.
When should I bring you into the renovation?
Ideally before finalizing the layout, ordering cabinetry, or starting demolition. Early design decisions give your contractor a clearer direction to price and implement. If you have already started, tell us where things stand so we can assess how we can help.
Can you work with my contractor, or help me find one?
Yes. We can collaborate with your preferred contractor or builder. If you don’t have one, we have contractors and builders we can bring into the conversation based on your project’s needs and availability. We’ll establish how design information, approvals, and questions are shared so everyone understands their role. Your contractor and trades verify dimensions and construction feasibility.
Are purchasing and site visits included?
They can be part of your full-service engagement. Your proposal identifies which products we procure, the local visits and oversight included, and any additional fees. This keeps the level of support clear from the start.
What budget do I need?
That depends on the size of your kitchen, layout changes, cabinetry, appliances, materials, and contractor scope. Share your anticipated total investment when you inquire. We’ll discuss design priorities and fit; your contractor and vendors provide construction and product pricing.
Which areas do you serve?
We serve Birmingham, AL Metro and surrounding areas within 50 miles, including Mountain Brook, Homewood, Vestavia, Hoover, and Trussville. We also serve Smith Lake, Lake Martin, and Logan Martin. Include your project address or ZIP code when you inquire so we can confirm service coverage and any travel considerations.
How soon can we start?
We accept a limited number of projects. Let us know your preferred start date and any fixed deadlines, and we’ll discuss current availability and a realistic design schedule.
